Two weeks in Review

Gift on Valentine's Day

Treat bag and Starbucks

Delicious meal of pesto pasta with sausage and roasted brussel sprouts

Our tradition of Sunday Brunch Day =)

What our life has consisted of while being sick for a few weeks

New bedroom decorations using our old wine bottles

Salted peanut butter and chocolate cupcakes
This month has been flying by. Being sick with colds and sinus infections has made us stick to the couch for the majority of the time, but there has been some fun times thrown in there, like our lovely Valentine's Day. It is one of my favorite holidays, because what is not to like about pink, flowers, and chocolate? We have also been enjoying our new tradition of going to brunch on Sundays. It is the only day of the week that Tim doesn't work and neither of us has classes so we take advantage of our time together.

Beating the Winter Blues

This time of the year always makes me long for bright summer days and trips to Savannah, GA and the beach. Nothing is better than a hot summers night. So I decided to listen to this and make my life a little more summery despite the dreary Northeast Ohio weather.

Lunch at our favorite pizzeria

A new candle from target in the fresh scent of Sparkling Yuzu and Lime

And a new manicure in mellow yellow and my bright, slightly beaten up Kate Spade iPhone case.

2011 in Comics: A Time of New Beginnings

Property of DC Comics Inc.
So, 2011 was a big year in comics. Spiderman died, there was a new Venom, and DC revamped their entire universe with 52 new comic book series. Now I've always loved comic books, but I've never actually got into series. I usually just pick up 25¢ comics here and there and read them for fun. But, a couple weeks after The New 52 started being released, I walked into a comic book shop up in Cleveland, and I happend to see them all on the shelf. Of course, being me, I had to get a bunch of them. I picked up a few because I liked the characters, and I liked the art (which is a huge deciding factor in most of the books I pick up). I got Batman the Dark Knight, The Flash, Superman Action Comics, and Green Arrow. The first three I was hooked automatically, but the Green Arrow I was a bit disappointed in. I've also gotten hooked on Marvel's new The Defenders, Avenging Spider-man, Venom (a definite favorite), The Incredible Hulk, and Wolverine and the X-men. So basically, if your ever looking for a good series to follow, pick one of these up. Most are only a few issues in, and you might still be able to find the first issues at a local store (if you happen to be in my area, check out JC Comics & Cards).

Well, Happy New Year, and happy reading. Can't wait to see how the stories play out in 2012.

Angry Birds Are Everywhere

Am I the only person that doesn't like angry birds? Everywhere I go there is some piece of Angry Bird merchandise. Whether it's the plush toys, the card game, the bird toss, the t-shirts, the jewelry, the costumes, and everything else. They are relentless. And there are like 4 versions of the game. Who really cares this much about Angry Birds?
The game isn't even original! I used to play an old flash game online in middle school with the same exact premise. It just wasn't little birds, and pigs. I really don't understand the appeal. Sure, it's a halfway decent game, but nowhere near as good as everyone seems to think. I mean, it's not good enough to have so many types of merchandise. It honestly shouldn't have any merchandise other than the original game, and maybe a second game. Unfortunately they're just going to keep milking the cow until it's dry. I don't even want to see what comes out next.

A Chic Way to Organize Makeup

I have never kept a clean makeup drawer. It is always a jumbled mess and takes me forever to find what I'm looking for. Tim and I drink tons of coffee and I decided to recycle an old coffee canister and an old pickle jar and clean up my makeup mess.

I used:
-Coffee canister for makeup brushes
-Pickle jar for lipgloss
-One piece of scrapbook paper
-Mod podge

One of my favorite things

I have decided to share with you my love affair of Pinterest. If you don't know what it is let me fill you in. People "pin" what they like from all over the web, whether it is tasty recipes or how to wrap the perfect gift for Christmas. If you are not already a member, join now! You won't regret it.
I have gotten so many ideas for our apartment off this website. With Christmas just around the corner I plan to make my packages the best under the tree with this cute idea. I have to change the color scheme a bit, because my mom only allows packages to be solid gold, silver, green, or red, but I can make it work.
Happy wrapping!
